great game developed by one person! very funny! i hope the game will be developed more!
I love creature collecting and this game really scratchers that ich! Its super fun going around finding pets and it can be a challenge sometimes to capture them but it makes it rewarding doing so once you have finally tamed that beast! The music is so relaxing and gives me princess monokee vibes as well as the forest spirits. Its a game that's been made with lot of love and thought, and if you like exploring and collecting cool creatures to use in combat you'll like this game. I cant wait for even more creatures and hopefully more variants, like finding rare ones with different colours would be amazing!
This is a game where you get dropped in a procedural world and go fight, complete quests and capture creatures. The creature collector aspect is pretty fleshed out for being this early with a lot of possible pets and mini-skill trees for each pet, as well as special abilities like breaking rocks on the way just like the classic pokemon games. The bubble lasso mechanic is also pretty addictive and fighting alongside your pets is fun too. Keep in mind the game is early in development by just one person, so it might not have huge amounts of content (at least yet) but the developer is pretty active on discord and pumps out updates pretty frequently too, both bug fixes and content, so i think it is worth it to support this project.
It's a lovely game, I've been waiting for it for a while and been enjoying it but more importantly, the dev of the game is so fast about replying any inquiries and doing everything to solve if you have a problem, it's obvious this game is a labor of love and I really love the idea behind it.
This is my brutally honest review. I never wrote one before as I never cared enough, but this game has a LOT of potential. For starters, the beginning parts were pretty fun. Learning the bubble lasso tech. Exploring the different biomes. Talking with every NPC knowing they all have unique and important dialogue. I would give Early-game 3.5/5. The reason why, is because when you use up all your lasso, and didn't complete certain quests, you had no direction pointing you to where you could find or buy more lasso. When you explore more, you will eventually find them in chests, or the NPC shops. It was a skill issue on my end, but I did have to run around for about 30 minutes before I could find another one. The generator is probably the hardest and buggiest portion. I love the different biomes, plants, and others generated via random. This did lead to a few issues where trees would block staircases, animals being jailed and locked away from moving, and boss rooms being unreachable. Overall I will still give the generation a solid 3/5. Despite these bugs, it generated structures well, the puzzles were very intuitive and fun, the world was amazing to run through. One more thing I do want to bring up, the animals and their AI/paths. Overall they are equally annoying as they are fun to catch, but there were a few issues I ran into. Since the only thing between catching them is the bubble lasso, it was really easy to run to a very far location (desert) and walk up to a level 98 and catch it as a level 12. Obviously their level caps at your level, but not really? Their stats are immensely beefed up compared to the lower level animals. As for catching them, I noticed there is a few times where when I go for the catch ( inside the bubble to move around more efficiently) every now and then, they would randomly drain both my current animal and my health. Maybe it was a feature after a certain time of lasso they would get irritable and attack you, but for now I did notice that they would drain health much faster than if they were to charge head on. The desert boss, I threw a lasso at the tail because of reasons, and it takes your lasso, does the run around but obviously you cannot catch it, so it consumes it and bugs the game. He runs off map, he does no damage, you do no damage, your tamed animal loses aggro. But everything else, the leveling, skill tree, inventory, character creation, are all extremely enjoyable and very well made. This section will get a 4/5. The world you immerse yourself in when playing is absolutely breathtaking and this is a W. Next up is questing, I personally find these quests to be a good source of money and exp. Sometimes you get useful foods or items from them too, overall it is great. The only thing, if you fast travel from a level 80 or 50 zone to the beginner zone, the NPC refreshes and so do the animals near your teleportation site so the quest remains unfinishable AND the rerolled NPCs and animals are level 50-80 in the starter zone. Questing for this, is for sure a 4.5/5 despite these bugs. From someone who religiously plays, Terraria and Stardew (phone), this game is definitely in my top 3. It has SO MUCH potential, this game, the mechanics, features, creativity, has blown me away for an early release. Personally I would give this a 9/10 stars for early release. It has amazing potential, amazing current mechanics, world building, and art. I cant wait to play this as my top game on my account!
Had a great time with my first session! It feels like it might run dry on content after a few more hours, but even if it does it'll be worth the money for the experience :)
Truly a unique and beautiful game!!! I haven't been excited to come home and play a game in a long time!! You can tell the creator put his heart and soul into this game. So much fun, 10/10 recommend!!! PS the animals are the cutest thing ever.
Amazing game that doesn't hold your hand and lets you explore everything at your own pace. The pet taming is challenging and so much fun, and a unique 2 dimensional twist on the capture meters in other games. The biomes are coherent and the inspiration from the dev's local wildlife gives it a very personal feeling. I'm really excited for the future development of this game and cannot wait to play more!
Such an fun game already and can't wait to see it grow into an even more amazing game. Love collecting the different pets and exploring
Super fun, can not wait for co-op!
Fantastic! It's a cosy game that you can plug into for 5 minutes or an hour - honestly, perfect for Dads. The music and vibe is great, there's plenty to explore and catch and the potential of the game is huge! I've solely played this game on Steamdeck which is a good experience and the battery life is good too. Just be careful of hitting the down arrow because you might accidentally drop your weapon! For context, I've got somewhere between 60-80hrs of game play on Wildaria across a few beta testing and early access so this isn't a first impressions review. You might find bugs along the way, but the developer is pretty fast at fixing them (just report them on discord!)
So Far So Good!
-This is a review of the Early Access Build for this game- This game popped up randomly in my suggestions. I saw it was in early access, but I liked the store page and the game's premise. There are some minor visual glitches that I have noticed, but nothing that stops my enjoyment. These kinds of things are expected in an early access game and are completely acceptable to experience. Overall, I am enjoying the game so far and I hope others are too. I can't wait to see what else gets changed, added, and improved! Things I like:

Pet Variety
NPC Variety
Music is great
Mechanics are easy to learn
Tutorial is excellent and engaging
Leveling is simple
The game world is huge!
There is always something to gather/fight/explore, which is great for large worlds
Combat styles can be changed as the player moves forward, and you are not stuck with one thing
Things I hope could be added:

Let us pet our pets
Let us name our pets (Dev has confirmed this is already an option and I Missed it!)
Store types labeled on the map (e.g., Pet, Armor, etc)
When your pet is in the ocean, they should either get a bubble around them or on their head.
The font on enemies and NPCs is very squished together; they need extra spacing or even a dash (-) between names and level. For example: Lvl33 becomes Lvl-33
A lot of chests looted from bandits are empty (this could be a balancing thing at the moment).
The ability to disable friendly fire, whether it be only in towns/homes or an option you can select. I've only hit NPCs by accident a few times, but sometimes my pets have to use a skill that has an AOE that accidentally smacks someone.
