No Man's Sky

I have REALLY tried to love this game. And to be fair, I played a LOT of hours in it, that made it worth the money... I guess. The game can be beautiful and spectacular - even thought provoking at times. But the game is also riddled with - sometimes game-breaking - bugs that have been around for YEARS. The interface often tries to fight you. Some keys are mapped to multiple competing functions BY DEFAULT, while some functions can't be remapped at all. The game often glitches and causes you, NPCs and/or buildings to spawn in impossible locations or even out of bounds. Mission targets can get lost, causing the missions to be stuck and need you to abandon them. Cinematics appear on EVERY interaction and on EVERY travel, with no way to turning them off. Even simple things like turning in requested materials to a quest giver can take the better part of a minute to finish, because the game would rather have you watch a marker animate over the screen, instead of quickly updating your mission status. No joke: It takes almost 10 minutes to accept 5 salvage missions - that you already have the resources in your inventory for - and hand them in "immediately"... Some features of the game are completely outdated by newer additions of the game, but kept in game for no reason - like the various exocraft, that most players build once for tutorials or missions and then never use again, because they are frustrating and useless for the majority of gameplay. The main story is also very short and convoluted with no real conclusion - well there is, but also isn't... Most of the time I played the game, I made up my own goals or targets. If that is your thing and you want to experience a vast galaxy that appears... mostly empty while you work around bugs and outdated irrelevant features, then go for it - when the game is at a discount. Otherwise get a game with a non-procedurally-generate world.
